In this episode of the Pacey Performance Podcast I have the pleasure of speaking with Ben Peterson, who is not only Sport Performance Manager at Catapult but co-authored Triphasic Training with Cal Cietz. This is part one of a two part series with Ben. This episode we discuss all things GPS with part two discussing the triphasic training model. Ben is a super smart guy and made me feel very uneducated. I asked people on Twitter for some questions to put to Ben for this episode so I appreciate those that fired them over - Michael Symes, Jake Kemp, Tom Williams and Carl Valle.
In this episode you will learn -
- Who is Ben Peterson (experience, background etc etc)
- What are the benefits of live GPS tracking in team sports (Michael Symes)
- Accuracy of Catapult
- Views on absolute vs relative speed thresholds e.g % MAS, pros and cons (Jake Kemp)
- From all the data points GPS provides, what are the most useful (Tom Williams)
- Whats the next step for Catapult hardware, specifically in terms of foot strike (Carl Valle)
- Although a very individual thing depending on the coach, how do you best present GPS data?
